    adjustment position control handle

Took the tire and fender off. Wish I had done it right away. The position control handle is now loose but there is still a toggle resistance, probably from the spring in the valve. I need a smoother control. I will follow-up with some pictures, at some time, and you will see the 9 foot...

    adjustment position control handle

What is the best way to get to the 12mm nuts that adjust the friction on the position control handle. Kubota screwed-up in making it just about impossible to adjust on an M-4 071

    Position control 3pt feedback rod

I did the adjustment as specified in the book. Turned the turnbuckle, to shorten, until the relief valve began to be operated and then lengthened it by 1-1/2 turns. Then when I ran it down and up and stopped the engine I did not get the .2-.79" free play. The feedback rod ended up a lot shorter...

    Hot transmission. Two dipsticks???

I've serviced this M8200 for a long time and never had a problem with confusion regarding the two dipsticks for trans/hydraulic fluid level. I even did a 14 gal. oil change with a filter change in the past. Now when I top off the hyd/trans fluid and see it register on the back dipstick, it does...

    Burned 4WD Solenoid

Yes... The local dealer was the first place I went... Talked to the parts guy and he said he had sold one in the year that he had worked for the dealer. The service manager let me talk to a mechanic and he said to check diodes. Kubota in Torrance had no answer. How can all three valves have...

    Burned 4WD Solenoid

Well I had all three valves (two old ones and the new one) ON THE BENCH...NO RELAYS...NO DIODES. Just running 12 volts from a battery. Every coil gets hot! But the black wire one (the only good 4WD one left on the brand new valve) gets real hot, real fast. I'm o.k. with solenoids getting a...

    Burned 4WD Solenoid

Yes.. The new valve has the only good black wire coil.

    Burned 4WD Solenoid

Thats next bxray. I like putting power straight to the coil. What I'm going to do this week is switch the position of the two coils. Lets see if the coil that did not get hot where it was ... does get hot when I put it in the spot where the other coil got hot. Stat tuned to this station.

    Burned 4WD Solenoid

I see it the same way as BXRAY. Right now I've got to turn my attention to our FIAT crawler with charging problems. Will get back to the Kubota in a day or two. Thanks to all of you. Be back soon with follow-up.

    Burned 4WD Solenoid

I see the orifices that you marked. I'll have a look.

    Burned 4WD Solenoid

Did that test on the diodes. They seem o.k.

    Burned 4WD Solenoid

O.K. Wolfman, Yes it is a narrow. Yes both coils are 7 ohms. What orifice? The valve volts to the casting. I see no orifice. Bent??? I've had trouble with three valves. They all work for a while. Can't post another picture of the Bi Speed diode passing 12v, but it acts just like the 4WD diode.

    Burned 4WD Solenoid

I hope these all came though. The black wire coil is 4WD. The green one is Bi Speed. Both coils measure 7.5 ohms. If I energize the Green wire one it does not get hot. If I energize the black wire one it gets hot. I put the copper disks on myself to try to draw the heat. The one in place is...

    Burned 4WD Solenoid

O.K. I'll post a picture as soon as I can. Meanwhile to answer a couple of points: 1. My understanding is that DC coils don't get hot if they don't get the solenoid to shift all the way, but AC coils do. 2. I think I eliminated the question of a diode being involved when I simply...

    Burned 4WD Solenoid

No linkages. Just two coils that oppose each other on the same valve. If I figure out how to post a picture, I will do that.
