Thank you for your help. I have an alternator coming as well as a voltage regulator. Figure that I'd rather spend 80 bucks on parts than have the tractor go dead in the field, seeing as how there wasnt a LOT of smoke coming off the alternator, but any is too much and it's gotta be 30 years old...

So, some results. Hooked up truck, cranked tractor, tractor runs. Huzzah! Took connector off back of dyno, DMM for VAC. Black lead on metal housing of dyno, hot on connectors on dyno. Nada, all three. Seperate large red cable (likely carrying up from starter hot) showing 12VDC. VDC reading...
