Ordered starter from Ebay, $47.00. Works good now.

Ohmed out ground cable. Checked good. To remove starter. Remove battery. Take out the three screws holding the black rubber dust shield that separates the engine compartment from the battery compartment. This allows you to push the dust shield aft for room.There is a black electronic box in...

My T1760 starter is clicking. I was going to take it off but the aft bolt is a bear. Anyone removed this starter? What's the best way to troubleshoot this. Have a brand new fully charged battery. Thanks.

Well, after a few months it appears the xmsn has gotten worse. I had to push it out of the shed but after a while it worked but was very slow. The tractor has 1300 hrs. on it. Anone ever rebuilt one of these?

It appears I have bought some time at least. Transmission really whined after changing fluid but after some run time it sounds fine. Not as fast in forward as it should be but it's adequate. New drive belt didn't seem to help any. Thanks for your input!

Thanks. Linkage is clean. I have been all over it. I put on new drive belt. Still slow. I will look for that adjustment.

I checked that and it moves the transmission lever fine and doesn't hit stop at the pedal. I drained and refilled the xmsn. The tensioner appears to be maxed out. I am going to get a new belt then I will update. Thanks.

My T1760 lawn tractor goes slow in forward. It is fine in reverse. The fluid level is good. The drive belt seems plenty tight. What else should I check? Thanks.
