I certainly wouldn't pull the pump and start tearing it apart just yet. It's not all that uncommon for a pump to lose prime sitting for months unused. I would first try loosening some lines on the pressure side of the pump and starting the engine for a few seconds to see what that gets you. If...

I take it you agree that it's still a calibration issue? That's the solution here? Maybe you're right. I'm not saying calibration wouldn't be in order once the problem is solved, I just don't believe calibration will solve it. I hope we find out some day.

I see this as just another example of why each and every part needs to be individually scrutinized before assembly any more, no matter what supplier you get engine parts from. You can't trust anything to correct without checking it first.

I would also suggest you loosen the hose connection on the suction tube before you attempt to put the screen back in. If you break the hose loose and gain some freedom of movement on the banjo end you may have an easier time getting the screen threaded back in without cross threading it again.

The engine stop solenoid won't care if you're in the seat or not. It won't stop the engine until the 12v signal to it gets taken away. You can always add in a "quickie" jumper wire to the solenoid circuit and keep it powered up that way. Then see if it stays running or not. I doubt there's...
