    Oil change question

I did the recommended 50 and 100 hours service. Last oil change was about a year ago. Was just wondering if I should wait for next service interval or change now. I guess from the responses, I'll change it soon. Thanks for all the replies.

    Oil change question

I have a BX1870 with about 120 hours on it. I have done all the required maint on it in the past. I use to mow grass with it but I now use a Toro SWX 5050. I occasionally use the BX with the FEL to move things around and I have the 5450 snow blower for it that I use in the winter. I only...

Cleaning Mower Deck with water while blades spining - good or bad?

I turn the water on then get on the tractor and run the mower full speed for about a minute. I also move the tractor back and forth a few inches. Need to make sure that sprayer extends out beyond deck some so there is no chance of mower sucking it up. Doesn't get everything but keeps it fairly...

Cleaning Mower Deck with water while blades spining - good or bad?

I made this a while back to clean my deck after mowing. Just attach hose to it. Has about 5 small holes on each leg. Make sure it extends out past deck on both sides.

    Hard choice bx1870 vs 2370

The biggest factor in my decision is the the 1870 would fit in my garage without lowering the rops. The one inch bigger tires on the 2370 would make it hit the door opening. I have FEL, 54 in mmm and snowblower and have not seen any problems with power. The only problem I had was last winter...

Does it make sense to mow your lawn yourself or hire someone?

For me, the biggest factor is quality. Many of my neighbors have a lawn service and I just do a better job than they can do. I will keep cutting mine as long as I am able to do it. The difference in cost is negligible.

    Snowblowing Video

I don't know how well you can see from the photo but I attached heavy plastic around 3 sides of the seating area. It keeps most of the snow from blowing back at me and makes a good windbreak.

    BX1870 vs BX2370

I think the fine cut deck cuts a little better than the standard one. I have the mulch kit and do not notice any trimmings left behind after cutting. Last spring was a challenge because of all the rain. Had to cut every 3 or 4 days. Either deck would do a good job. I'm considering getting...

    BX1870 vs BX2370

I have a 1870 with turf tires that I use mostly for mowing with 54" fine cut deck. I mow a 22 deg hill up, down, across, and sideways and have no problems. Seldom need to use the 4 wheel drive. Using the 4 wheel drive and making sharp turns even on flat ground will tend to mark the grass...

About to order a BX 2350

Your welcome.. I have learned much from this forum. Make holes really small, about 1/8". I have 5 holes in each leg. Depends on your water pressure.

About to order a BX 2350

I made this a few years ago and it works well. After mowing, I attach hose to it and put under deck. It shoot water up under the deck. I start the tractor and engage blades. Cleans most of the grass from the deck. Make sure the length is longer than your mower deck so it doesn't get sucked...

    GR2120 v. BX1870 Decision

I had to make the same decision last year. Have about 1 acre of hilly lawn to mow. I didn't know anything about diesels and was a little concerned about that. I ended up getting the bx1870 and never regretted it. Got the FEL with thinking I would only use it a little but the times I do, it's a...

    Question about BX 70-1 series

That's good news. Wonder if an existing deck can be retro fitted? Guess will have to wait to see what it looks like.

    Question about BX 70-1 series

No. I have an 1870 and the mmm deck is a pain to install. Removing it is not too bad. I take mine off about every month to clean and sharpen blades and have become very good at it. Only takes a few minutes. The deck weighs about 200 pounds but on a hard flat surface moves around ok.
