I did the recommended 50 and 100 hours service. Last oil change was about a year ago. Was just wondering if I should wait for next service interval or change now. I guess from the responses, I'll change it soon. Thanks for all the replies.

The biggest factor in my decision is the the 1870 would fit in my garage without lowering the rops. The one inch bigger tires on the 2370 would make it hit the door opening. I have FEL, 54 in mmm and snowblower and have not seen any problems with power. The only problem I had was last winter...

For me, the biggest factor is quality. Many of my neighbors have a lawn service and I just do a better job than they can do. I will keep cutting mine as long as I am able to do it. The difference in cost is negligible.

I don't know how well you can see from the photo but I attached heavy plastic around 3 sides of the seating area. It keeps most of the snow from blowing back at me and makes a good windbreak.

I have a 1870 with turf tires that I use mostly for mowing with 54" fine cut deck. I mow a 22 deg hill up, down, across, and sideways and have no problems. Seldom need to use the 4 wheel drive. Using the 4 wheel drive and making sharp turns even on flat ground will tend to mark the grass...

No. I have an 1870 and the mmm deck is a pain to install. Removing it is not too bad. I take mine off about every month to clean and sharpen blades and have become very good at it. Only takes a few minutes. The deck weighs about 200 pounds but on a hard flat surface moves around ok.
