Anyone know how much belt deflection on the mowing deck is considered normal? I think my spring is shot.

I ran the tractor and started to noticed the wheels were not responding to steering wheel turns properly so I looked down and noticed the tire had come off the wheel. When I examined the tire, where the inner sidewall sits on the rim, does have some small tears in a few places. Just wondering...

Turned out to be a loose neg wire connection at battery terminal (not the actual neg post clamp but the nut holding the wire to the clamp). That said I still have an extremely long crank to actual ignition firing that I have to work out.

Turn key to on position, dash lights (battery, water temp) come on, then when I turn key glow light dash light comes on and the fuse blows out. Short in the ignition switch or should I look somewhere else?

Fixed. Now the only other thing is , it takes about 10 seconds of the starter turning to get the engine to start when cold.

Will try the bend bar suggestion after I get the rod end. Thanks

Well have to buy a new tie rod end joint. Broke off the tie rod trying to get it off as well as an internal extractor. That F...er will not come off.

Actually IS on ebay used..will consider it if all else fails.

pics. I'm having a bear of a time trying to get one of the rod ends off. JC that thing is frozen on.

It's a flat bar not tube. Will check around..MAY not need to repair it..have to replace rod and check first.

Wondering if I can just put it in a big vice or press it straight. Not sure how precisely straight it has to be. Will take pics tonight. Looks like a clown tractor the way it is now.

Wife ran into a stump and bent the king pin metal bar piece that looks like a 2 x 6 steel rectangular bar. Wheels are now facing in opposite directions when trying to steer. Can this rectangle by bent back straight in order to re-use? New part is expensive. Tie rod is also bent but going to...

Solved...was the replacement belt. Went to Tractor Supply and bought another belt from them. Put it on and everything works fine. Moral of the story., all aftermarket belts are not the same. I think the one that wasn't working was slightly incorrect in size even though they said it was a direct...

PTO belt snapped. Replaced with aftermarket but the belt keeps slipping off deck spindle. Is belt size incorrect? Tension spring shot? Something I'm missing? Also there is a lot of grease/on pto spindle area..seems to be leaking. is hydro fluid supposed to be replaced in PTO and how to get to it?
