Can't shorten PTO shaft because of metal collar?

Yeah, that's who I co Yeah, that's who I contacted first and they called Agrimetal to confirm. They agreed I can cut right through the collar or cut it off if needed.

Quick update on the shaft: EA called up Agrimetal and they confirmed what everyone is saying here. The plastic ring has a zerk to lube the inner shaft without having to separate the two shaft halves. The metal collar is a centering feature for the plastic shield of the inner shaft. They...

Can't shorten PTO shaft because of metal collar?

Right, my problem is the metal and plastic collar I'm talking about are on the free ends of 1 of the shafts. If you look at the first picture, you can see the top shaft half has these pieces on the free end and the problem was that I had to take 5.5" off which put the cut right in the middle of...

That all sounds about right but like you said, no idea why its adhered to the shaft. After I ran into that issue I put it back together to work on another day (had some mowing to do). More than likely I'll end up just cutting it off....realistically I'm only going to be using it a handful of...

    leaf vacuum power rake

Nice tip, I didn't think about not installing the deflector chute. My property is long so I'll probably end up driving up the middle and blowing to each side anyway. I may take it off. Haven't heard it yet but that was another draw for me, I did hear it was quiet.

Absolutely. Can't wait to try it out. I watched your video/pics and that basically convinced me to buy it. I only have 3 acres but its surrounded by oaks/maples/elms so it'll make short work of the inches of leaves that fall.

Can't shorten PTO shaft because of metal collar?

I replied to your other post, figured I'd keep it in the attachment thread in case other people run into the same issue. I agree though.

That's what I was starting to think. It fits pretty snug against the inner shaft plastic shield. Weird part is I noticed when I slid the shafts back together there is a window open to the plastic piece on both if the shaft is fully compressed. Pic attached. Not sure why they'd leave a hole open...

Can't shorten PTO shaft because of metal collar?

Hi everyone. I posted a reply in a thread specific to this attachment but figured I'd ask here for more visibility. I purchased an Agrimetal BW 1600 (PTO blower) through Everything Attachments for my BX2380 a few weeks ago. Everything looks great but I'm having trouble with cutting the shaft. I...

Hi everyone, could use some help as it relates to this implement and shortening the PTO shaft. I purchased the BW 1600 through Everything Attachments for my BX2380 a few weeks ago. Everything looks great but I'm having trouble with cutting the shaft. Similar to @B737, I measured it up and found...

New BX2380 - Do I have a hydraulic fluid leak?

Will do, thanks for the advice. I was going to go through all of the service info this weekend and put together a list of things to do and when to do them. I read similarly that the front axle fluid often gets neglected by people during self-service. I'll be sure to check the level now...

New BX2380 - Do I have a hydraulic fluid leak?

Update: emailed the dealer last night with the pictures and explanation. Got a call this morning - no questions asked, they're sending a service tech to fix Friday morning. Thanks everyone for confirming my suspicions. Hopefully it gets buttoned up so I can start to put it to work!

New BX2380 - Do I have a hydraulic fluid leak?

Hi everyone, First off, big thanks to all of the contributors on this and other tractor forums. I've been lurking here for a couple of months now doing my research and deciding what I wanted before diving into my first real tractor. I settled on the BX2380 which I had delivered about 2.5 weeks...
