I agree with straps. Even many cranes are using straps for overhead lifting now. Straps have a little give and wont snap like a chain will. Just be sure to use adequate sized straps for your load. I only use straps.

My last Kubota did that. Lubricate both ends of that cable where it enters into the shielding. I used to just spray wd40 on mine every time I greased the tractor. Then with the tractor shut off, work it until the lubricant gets into the shielding. Mine never did that again after I started...
I used a stump bucket on my L3901 to dig this out. It had 4 tree trunks growing out of it. Each tree trunk was between 18-24". It was so large I had trouble getting it out of the hole. I have since moved up to an MX4800 for a little extra lift capacity.
That is a tree sheer. Mine is a puller. Also that one does not have much reach, so working with evergreens would be no fun due to all of the lower branches.
I had an L series that did that. I took a can of WD-40 and sprayed it on the top of the cable as well as lubricating the bottom side of it. After that, it became a part off my regular maintenance and I would lube it regularly.
I have never found the exact same one. I bought mine used. They are actually for skid steers, but work great on a tractor too. Here is the closest thing to the one I have. http://m.ebay.com/itm/TREE-POST-PULLER-BOBCAT-SKID-STEER-QUICK-ATTACH-SHIPPING-199-/251624780135?nav=SEARCH
You do have to get a feel for it. It is capable of crushing trees, t-post, or whatever, to the point of cutting them. It is strong enough I have had to weld it up a few times. I even eventually beefed it up because it kept breaking.
I spent the day brush hogging and pulling some overgrowth. The MX4800 made easy work of this. I pulled some cedar trees that were about 25-30' tall. Here is a video of me pulling a few small trees.https://youtu.be/9uRkSj4FkGQ
I had a L3901 but ended up getting rid of it and getting an MX4800 for the extra lift capacity. I use pallet forks quite a bit. I even use some 8ft pallet fork extensions that I fabricated. That is an 8x12 prefabricated storage shed kit in the photo.
I bought a quick hitch off off eBay for less than $100. Free shipping. My parents have the Land Pride QH and my cheep one functions just as well.
