Pros and cons of snow removal options

Very helpful summary and discussion. One setup not included is a broom for light snowfalls. If I had a paved driveway I’d look into one to keep ice at bay. One minor FEL blade detail to add when digging thru spec sheets is that some blades pivot laterally about a center pin in addition to...

    Hydraulic hose treatment?

I know it’s not directly on point, but I’ve had the pleasure of doing some hydraulic hose work over the last couple months and can say that replacement of worn out hoses and fittings is not burdensome. NAPA built a new (1’) bucket cylinder hose for me recently for a reasonable price. Which was...

    Recommendations for a finish mower?

Short answer is no. It was something my dealer mentioned during the delivery walkthrough. So I’ve avoided the maneuver. But you’ve got me curious myself. The RDTH you mention does not have a flared rear discharge like the FDR1660, so the rear wheel sit closer on the RDTH — just spitballing. I’ll...

    Recommendations for a finish mower?

I went down that road recently when going to the lx from the BX. I also had mid mount mower as an option. Considerations for me were that a finish mower has a larger used market than a mmm (should I decide to go with a zero turn), and I wanted to stay with one machine. So far the LP 1660 has...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Used the grapple to turn the chicken waste compost. The pile is about 2/3 of what we and the flock (12 birds) generated this winter. I had been using a manure fork and bins, but this is just way better with the volume of material.

LX2610 lower link arms Sway Bar/Stabilizer Pins

@Old_Paint - thank you for weighing in. I think I have a small spring puller like that somewhere — bought it to pull the 54” BX MMM deck and realized it wasn’t adequate. (It was replaced by a longer hook that took a long 2020 COVID USPS detour to arrive but now hopefully, minus the need with the...

LX2610 lower link arms Sway Bar/Stabilizer Pins

Hi All. I am seeking an alternative to the factory setup for the telescopic sway bar pins. The factory setup — if I’ve got my terminology right — uses clevis pins and hairpin cotters. The small size of the cotters makes it difficult to grab without tools, especially with sweaty hands or wet...

Snow trip blade (Land Pride STB 1072) observations

Mossy dell, Yes - float and with skid shoes at various positions going forward. But I’ll tilt the loader/blade forward and back drag for those areas I want see gravel. I have read good things about the poly cutting edges for asphalt surfaces but have no experience. Another thought is a broom...

Snow trip blade (Land Pride STB 1072) observations

Frank, I have used the STB for scraping mainly in reverse and back dragging but also mostly in float. Angling the arms down and tilting the plow down puts more pressure on the cutting edge, which in turn has the plow + a portion of loader weight on it. I think this option—to use the weight of...

Snow trip blade (Land Pride STB 1072) observations

In the process of buying the STB1072 I didn’t find an abundance of detailed reviews out there. The 12” or so we received last night gave a good opportunity to see how it performs in relatively deep snow. My setup is the LX2610 cab with filled (Rim Gaurd) rears, factory spacers, Kubota third...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yesterday I went out to finish with our new LX2610 mowing the 2 acres I mow once a year for the local land conservancy. I say finish because I had started with our old BX last August but didn’t finish due to multiple flat tires. (Using a bike pump I was able to limp home.) I’ve still got the...

    BX snow removal suggestions.

i figure I’ll contribute our experience in some detail here, as snow removal is one of the key tasks for our machine. We have gravel that slopes fairly steeply up to the road; it is more of a “parking lot” as opposed to a “lane.”It’s probably about 2500 sf total. And if enough snow we also clear...

    BX2816 Snow Blower question.

On my old BX2380, I ran this blower. As others have said expect some noise when not under load. Instead of chainsaw bar oil I used Liquid Wrench chain and cable lube. I never lubed the the quick (K) connect-blower interface. I wonder if removing the blower and running the mid PTO with just the...
