I don't drive the tractor for fun, unless I'm giving rides to kids. (That's the best thing about having tractors) But I have been known to go mow a path to a place I want to be able to get to on foot when I'm out for a walk. I call it "recreational mowing".

3" spacers on the rear wheels don't change the fact that the front axle is on a pivot. Only weight on the rear end will make a significant difference.

The trouble with front end loaders is that they put all the weight on the front pivot. And it lifts up on the rear end of the tractor. I'd suggest putting an implement on the 3 pont when you're working. That will help with stability.

Kubotasam, thanks for the illustration. That helps a lot. Of course the tire didn't go flat in the shop. The tractor is sitting on a hilltop out in the pasture. Not a convenient place to work on it. Are the lug nuts with lock washers normal on these things?
