    Future tractor

The snowblower's ability to handle a "full bite" of snow is a function of how fast that snow is fed into it and how dense the snow is. You must already have a feel for this with your much larger existing tractor. If speed is not a concern for you then you can drive as slow as necessary to...

    Future tractor

Since you have experience with a 6 ft snowblower on a 40 hp tractor you are probably in the best position to judge how well a 4 or 5 ft snowblower on a 22 hp tractor would handle your conditions. It's mostly a question of how fast you want to be able to drive into the snow.

    Future tractor

North of the notches in NH is a whole other climate. I cannot imagine snow blowing up there regularly in an open station tractor. I'm in central NH and I love snow blowing in my LX4020 cab with 64" front mount blower, but that is likely a lot more than you are looking to spend for a second...

    4060 snow blower cylinder

I recently rigged up a linear actuator (under $100 from windy nation.com) to control the chute flapper on my front mount snowblower. It's not as fast as a hydraulic cylinder would be but it works fine for the amount of flapper adjustment that I find necessary.

    This Is Why

Putting a piece of tape over the IR flash lights will result in mostly dark if not totally black night photos.

    This Is Why

There are two different types of IR flash used on game cameras for night shots. The IR flash that can be seen by human eyes as a dim red light is the less expensive version. The more expensive version uses IR at a wavelength beyond human visibility, usually referred to as black flash or no...

    The time had come

I would not have needed to ask and answer my own question had your original statement that 4WD is essential when operating on grass (which is generally not true) been more specific about operating on steep grass. Even so you must turn at some point and do some damage, but that's just the price...

    The time had come

That begs the question as to why 4WD is essential when operating on grass. I almost never use 4WD on grass since it tends to tear it up when turning. Perhaps you have steep hills with grass that makes it necessary.

    The time had come

Okay, I'll be the one that asks the question. Why is the tractor operated full time in 4WD even on pavement?

    Kubota LX4020 Suspension Seat Fail

Is your LX4020 a cab or open station and is it kept out in the weather? My LX4020,which I have had for over two years, is a cab and is kept in a barn and I have not had any trouble with the suspension seat. It could be the Kubota seat design is susceptible to corrosion of the mechanism.

Finding an appropriate sized tractor (hp) with a cab that's big enough.

I'm 6ft 4in and I am very comfortable in my LX4020 cab with adequate leg room and a comfortable seat.

    Walk Behind Snowblower Recommendations

My deck is 10ft off the ground so I have a lot of steps, thus the deck snow blower stays on the deck and spends the off season in a plastic shed on the deck along with extra propane grill bottles etc. A ramp would probably work to handle 3 steps and a snow blower of the size and weight no more...

    Walk Behind Snowblower Recommendations

I have three two stage snow blowers all with electric start (which I never use because they start easily with the pull cord). All have been reliable. They range in size, blowing capability, and degree of ease to "wrestle" around. Details below: Ariens Platinum 30" is the newest (about 9...

    Snow blower question

No way would I swap my loader and blower off and on over the winter. Once the blower is on it stays on til sometime in April. Consider getting a back blade and leave the blower on for the duration.

    Snow blower question

    A 6 ft blade is asking a lot out of a BX1880.
