    Foundation Drainage Maintenance Question

White vinegar (acetic acid) can dissolve calcium and some mineral deposits. CLR will also work (phosphoric acid) does a good job of breaking it up. Muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) works really well on tough deposits. Yet, a couple of items of note. You are using a strong acid mixture. So...

    Ideas/Advice stray dogs

Sadly, we have had to shot dogs out on the farm. When grandpa had cows, there was a small pack of dogs (5 of them) that got into the pasture with the cows. They ended up running down and killing two calves (the dogs ran the young calves to death). Grandpa didn't get mad often, but he was ticked...

    It didnt rain today

We got double the 30-year average in July (30 yr-4.05"; 2025-8.76"). Yet that is an average of all the areas. Some of our areas recorded 10 inches of rain in a three hour time period during the month of July. Lots of spotty heavy downpours along with widespread rain. Looking at the yearly...

    Heat Dome

I walked outside and almost had to go back in and get a jacket. Last few mornings has been in the 80s when I walk out with high humidity. This morning walked out and it showed 63 on the truck temp gauge and there is very little humidity.

    New Cars/Trucks

85 MPH? Wow, that is interstate speed around here. Vehicles pass you like you are standing still if you are doing 75MPH. Now, if you were doing 185MPH, I would understand.

    Staying away from town!

You all keep talking about a canoe/kayak, but I have yet to see any type of boat. Maybe I need to get my eyes checked.

    Heat Dome

We keep getting pop up storms. Yesterday, the farm/area around the farm received 9 inches of rain with water rescue going on. The National Weather Service reported that Jerseyville received close to 9 inches of rain during the storm. Nearby Hamburg in Calhoun County experienced the highest...

    Heat Dome

They started us out with a heat warning, but dropped us down to a heat advisory since we keep getting rain. Yesterday afternoon, we got 0.95 inches of rain with a total for July of just over 9 inches (average for July is 4 inches). The plus side, everything is nice and green. The downside, my...

    This Doesn’t Look Right!

I believe and others can confirm or correct, that is an o-ring used for painting. Doesn't serve any other purpose.

    Attachments that use PTO

PTO attachments are universal for the speed of the PTO. I would assume most of the tractors that get discussed on this forum has a 540RPM PTO. I would guess, but don't know it for fact that most cat 0 and cat 1 PTO attachments would be 540RPM. attachment Yet when you start getting into the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I did some mowing, but had to stop and eat some black berries. Guess I should of taken the picture before I had eaten most of ripe ones, but they were too good to resist. There are a couple of places around the farm with black berries and they make nice stopping places to get out and...
