    Chipper for 3901

If I remember correctly, the WM-8H chipper will run on as few as 19 PTO HP. My sons BX will run it, but the 3-point will not lift it. I have set it in place and hooked it to his tractor so he could chip brush up to 3"-4" as I brush hogged with the L3901.

    L3301 Snow plow size

I have 7-1/2' fisher plow with third function mounted to a QA plate. This is fit to a L3901, plowing light snow is no issue with a straight or angled blade. The fully angled blade just barely clears my tire tracks running R4's with spacers. Wet or deep snow will severely skate the front of...

Finding the survey starting point question

20 years ago, I had my property sub-divided; the surveyor used a base marker at a state highway bridge 400+ feet away from my property. A BM is a known verified location and elevation set up by US Geological Survey. Along with previous survey maps and deeds he used his total station and a...

    Chipper for 3901

I also have a L3901 HST tractor and I purchase a Woodmaxx WM-8H this past spring and have about 12 hours on it. I have chipped soft and hard wood up to 8” and it has chipped everything I have put in it like a hot knife through butter and never a chipped material plugs in the discharge chute...

    Lifting with Chain/FEL

I just repaired my barn floor using ½-13 drop-in anchors with a machine lifting eye. I used my pallet fork frame with a hitch ball mount, clevis and a single leg SOF chain to lift the cement slabs, the ones in the photo are about 900-1000 lbs. three of the slabs were 1400-1500 lbs. this is using...

    SSQA snow plows

The Old Hokie: Attached is a plow build I made and use. I used a Fisher Plow and attached its vehicle cross member to my QA plate. I have the plow set up with a stiff hitch for the purpose of back dragging snow but also still have the original chain attached that will wrap around the QA stiff...

Best way to find value for my B7100 ?

I agree with TheOldHokie, I sold my 1995 B7100HST-D with a loader and turf tires for $3500 to a friend 5 years ago. I cannot count the times I wish I still had it for jobs my L3901 is to big or heavy for , especially in the spring driving across thawing or water soaked lawns. If you can...

    Leaky backhoe, normal?

Thanks for your question, it made me think a little deeper into my theory. I won't pretend to be a tractor hydraulic specialist by any means, I continually try to relate my industrial experience to the tractor world and believe me I sometimes find the way some systems are plumbed and especially...

    Leaky backhoe, normal?

I'm a little late to this thread, my L3901 with a BH77 hoe had the same issue with about 2-3 hours on the hoe and less than 40 hrs. on the tractor. I initially noticed a bit of slack in the bucket curl cylinder while digging. But it became very apparent quickly there was a serious issue when...

Gun Handling, What Am I Missing?

I taught hunter firearm safety for years, I always taught my students to never hand anyone a loaded firearm. The practice is with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction to remove any removable magazines, open the action in the presence of the firearm recipient to verify an unloaded firearm...

    Drag Harrow.....gravel on lawn

I use a flat aluminum shovel to scrape up the heavy concentration of aggregate from the melting snow piles, and along the driveway 340 feet. If the grass has not started to grow it will get most of the gravel without much effort, then I rake the area if it needs it to get the remainder. I also...

L3301 and rear chains - what do I need?

I have a L3901 with the same size tires, my dealer told me when I purchased it that I would need spacers if I ever wanted to run chains, so I purchased them as part of the sale. He stated there is not enough clearance for the chains without them.

    L3301 won't start

I have a L3901 that experiences the same issue from time to time. Originally the issue repeated it-self daily, the dealer found the HST switch mounted incorrectly from the factory. The switch has been replaced but the issue rears its head occasionally. The dealer originally advised to wobble the...

    Bh70 bucket cylinder assembly

Try a reputable machine shop, they may have or be able to purchase the cylinder rod material and machine the rod to match your damaged rod, i.e. don't forget to tell them you want it without the bend, don't laugh I have seen it done.

BX23S backhoe noise - hydraulic or mechanical

I would take a different approach, before removing the pin. 1. Remove the old zerk. 2. Get a long drill bit slightly smaller in diameter and longer than the grease gallery and by hand clean out the old grease, notice if it is dryed out. No drill bit try a stiff wire and grind slots into the...
