Does anyone know the part number for the air con V belt on the L4240 tractor? Been looking for hours and cannot find anywhere, nor can I find a parts list manual! Thanks

How to lock lift arms L4240

Hi all, I logged back into this topic intending to chase up any replies to my question believing there hadn't been any. For some reason I have not been notified of any responses hence my failure to respond and thank those that did! My L4240 is not fitted with draft controls so that is not an...

How to lock lift arms L4240

Hi all, Having trouble finding any way to lock my lift arms in place. According to my manual, the open/close (fast/slow) adjuster just under the seat should have a lock function too. It is not marked with lock and I cannot get any position that does the job. I have also read that some models...

    3G910-72150 Blower Motor options?

I agree, I have ordered a used unit from a local breakers to see wht can be done along these lines. I am relying on youtube information that suggests the alternative will fit hence my hesitation to jump in with both feet. Until I am convinced the alternative will work, I will continue to seek a...

    3G910-72150 Blower Motor options?

Hi, Has anyone found a cheaper alternative to Kubota's 3G910-72150 blower motor as fitted to some L series tractors (and others). I simply cannot justify spending around £700 on the Kubota motor. I know there is a Toyota Carolla 1980-86 (Four Seasons 35516) motor that fits the early L series...

    L4240 Problem with Lift Rods

You are right, ony used fairly gentle heat (100d C or so) so far. Will try the bigger blow torch and get it up to 180 or so.

    L4240 Problem with Lift Rods

I really do not want to start taking too much apart as a workaround. I have a very narrow window to get some hedge cutting done before the land becomes too wet to safely traverse. If I cannot release the lift rod to lift arm pin soon, I will replace all below that point for now and re-visit over...

    L4240 Problem with Lift Rods

Going to try loads of heat and constant pressure rather than too much BFH! If that fails, I'll give the air chisel a go.

    L4240 Problem with Lift Rods

If that was the only part worn I would. Unfortunately, the top (Cat 1?) section is worn too.

    L4240 Problem with Lift Rods

The part that is difficult to release holds the lift rod which has a worn Cat 1 linkage and a worn clevis and pin. Can't change those parts without releasing the joint with the lift arm (as in my image).

    L4240 Problem with Lift Rods

I can see signs of loctite oozing out from the thread side of the joint. If this is on the taper too, it will make a tough job near impossible. I have already tried hitting with two opposing hammers to distort the taper but no success! I'll go again tomorrow with the sledge hammer!

    L4240 Problem with Lift Rods

Thanks Dave, I did a quick search earlier today but could find nothing on the subject...I'll try again but thanks for confirmation it is a tapered joint. I have tried both a two jawed puller (a strong one) and a tapered bearing seperator (two types) all without success! I keep the nut in place...

    L4240 Problem with Lift Rods

Fitting a hedge cutter to my L4240 tractor and only now realise how important it is that all joints, pivots and pins are tight. Mine are not so I am having to change both lift rods and pins. My problem is I cannot undo the lift rod to lift arm joints! I am assuming these are tapered joints and...

    L4240 Heater blower motor change
