yup this is the way to go! The Jeep ones are black; just have to make sure the opening will be big enough to reach in to get at the filler cap. I don't know why I didn't check for a Kubota Forum before; I've had the machine since 1995. I have other projects that will need 'input"...

..perhaps a lad might scrounge up a flat rear quarter from a junker car and cut out and weld the fuel filler door over top of the filler cap after cutting a hole in the hood. Pop the little door, unscrew the cap and have a peek! No hood popping/ undoing cab shrouds to fuel up or check levels...
