    L5740 HST won't move

When I started tearing my 5240 apart to split it, I thought the operator platform had to be removed while I was waiting for my service manual. I unbolted the HST pedal and linkage and unplugged a pin connector. It was wide with several pins inside. I remember it was quite dirty. Could it...

    Kubota L2600 DT...need Help.

It's a 46mm. The problem is that they needs to be a little deeper than most sockets you can buy (I tried). The shaft sticks out a ways past the nut. My neighbor purchased one from Kubota to replace the front seal on his 3450. I borrowed it from him last year when I rebuilt the motor on my L5240.

    L5740 HST won't move

I don't think this is correct. I split my 5240 last year and there is only 1 shaft. When you push in the clutch, everything is disengaged.

    Brake Chatter-L3400dt

I don't know why I took so long to address this issue. I ordered some PEMO Friction modifier from John Deere last week. I ordered (5) 12oz bottles to get my order up to qualify for free shipping. I figured if it works, I'll have enough for the next 20 years. I ran up to the barn this morning...

Rear Main seal Leak - L4240

Odds are that it is the 4wd output shaft seal from the transmission. Been there, done that. My L5240 was done at 790 hours at the dealer 6 months before I bought it. Then it started leaking again after I bought it. I fixed it myself.

Leaking Front crank seal - L5240

You just saved me a lot of work. How do you get the seal in there with the crankshaft in the way? Now you've got me wondering if I have an extra o-ring in my gasket kit. Worth a look tonight. I still have the extra gaskets that I did not need like the intake and exhaust gaskets, etc.. Thanks.

Leaking Front crank seal - L5240

Long story short, I rebuilt the V2403 in my 5240 last winter. I've put 40 hours on it and everything is great, but it is leaking oil from the front crank seal behind the drive pulley. It started leaking after I put around 10 hrs on it. Now, I'm losing about a quart every 20 hours. When I...

    L3800/LA524 Hydraulic Pressure

I had my L3400 for 4 years before I made the adjustment. It was around 2400 if I recall. Bumped it up to 2600 with a #10 SS washer from the hardware store. The tractor would always lift a full bucket of material, but after the adjustment, it was much easier to break out of the material bank.

No power steering on 3940 2009

On my L3400, I found the cracked hose before it was a problem. I had heard of others having problems. On the L5240, it only seemed to bother the steering for some reason. The loader worked as normal. I started to research steering part failures until the lightbulb went off in my head about...

No power steering on 3940 2009

I had the same problem on my L5240. It was the rubber suction hose that feeds the hydraulic pump. Had a crack that was making it suck air in. My L3400 did the same thing. It was cracked also.

    Brake Chatter-L3400dt

Yes. I did use other fluids. I forgot to mention, when I bought my 5240, I mentioned this to the dealership owner, and how the other dealership said it would go away. He agreed with what the other dealer said. I am just nevous about using it in case it is something bigger. I suppose it...

    Brake Chatter-L3400dt

Hello. I need some advice. Tractor is a 2006, I bought it new. Summer of 2015, the right brake started howling when applied. I was loading logs on the sawmill with it. I flipped up the metal lever so the brakes could be separated. I began using the left brake only. 20 minutes later, that...

    L5030 hard steering. (New Member)

Before you do anything, remove and inspect the suction hose that feeds the pump. I have had a bad one on both my L3400 and L5240. The 5240 was causing me grief. Steering was difficult and seemed to work sporadically. Then the loaded seemed to lack power also, pointing to a common problem...
