    B3030 mid PTO breakage

Awesome, thanks! I'm still out of town, but she's ordering the PTO case from the local dealer and got a driveline shop to make her two broken shafts to the snowblower into 1 good one. It doesn't look terrible to fix thankfully.

    B3030 mid PTO breakage

Hello all, Helping out a neighbor here who has a B3030 her late husband bought with the goal of making a sweet, comfortable snow clearing machine in Fairbanks, Alaska. I installed the hydraulic kit (tractor did not originally come with a front end loader), mid mount, rear blade, and front...

B3030 front end loader cables freezing in cold weather

Thanks again for all the information! I'll start applying it soon. I have another slightly related question. The tractor had industrial tires on it. Her husband sourced and put on a set of new AG tires on the rear. A friend donated some chains when he rolled his jacked up pickup and the chains...

B3030 front end loader cables freezing in cold weather

OK, yeah I wouldn't remove the float detent, just the fast dump position to make chute rotation even on both sides. Do you see any issue with that? Once the controls are thawed out they work normally. Having a detent to rotate the chute to the right is a little annoying, so if it can be removed...

B3030 front end loader cables freezing in cold weather

Thanks for the responses! I like the idea of doing both suggestions with the exception that I probably won't put grease on the cables, in the temperatures we're running at, that's likely to add a bunch of friction/drag that won't go away. No Jacket, what you're saying correlates with what a...

B3030 front end loader cables freezing in cold weather

Hello! I've posted on here about my BX23S and the mods I've done to it and how I convert it for winter use in Alaska (truck plow mounted on SSQA plate and rear mounted snowblower). My question today is with my neighbor's tractor. It started life as a cabbed B3030, her late husband had planned to...

Pros and cons of snow removal options

finally it's over, I have to say that before warmer weather softened it up, the best and most economical was driving my 3/4 ton dodge up and down the driveway with chains on the back. That scuffed the surface up pretty decently.

Pros and cons of snow removal options

I ended up filling 3 5gal buckets and a pull sled with sand from a local place here (cost $0! they said they'd get me on something else. I self loaded with a shovel) This seems to be doing the trick enough for my daughter to get up in her FWD car. Studded and/or Winter tires are a must with just...

Pros and cons of snow removal options

Anyone have any good idea for an implement to scratch up the surface of glaze ice? Every once in a while, and this year is one, we get a thaw/rain in December or January that leaves a couple inches of hockey grade ice on my very steep driveway. I'd like to score it up somehow (with my BX). I...

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

Right? I thought the same thing. Especially considering there are some of these small cylinders floating around.

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

Ok! got it put on and operating! Here's a couple pics, because of the 3 hour days here now, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get a good 'overall' picture of my set up. I ended up getting a friend to straighten out the angles on the clevises a bit. He got the bottom clevis almost straight with...

    Decreasing Down Pressure 3 Point

In the meantime, I'd adjust your toplink. Even up here with pretty frozen ground, the difference in bite angle (driving backwards with a 3pt Hitch blower) makes a big difference if it 'digs' down towards and sometimes into the driveway surface, or 'floats' up on the snow a little. Most of the...

    Decreasing Down Pressure 3 Point

...... Here I am in -30*f Fairbanks, Alaska trying to picture a 'soft' snow covered driveway  . That is something that just doesn't happen here!

    Decreasing Down Pressure 3 Point

hmm most people (me included) would in general like to 'increase' down pressure on the 3 pt! I believe that the only down pressure on a 3pt hitch is the weight of the implement, so I don't know how you'd reduce that. I use my hydraulic top link (useful even on the snowblower!) to adjust the...

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

I have a press for bending pipe that I built a bumper with. I wonder if I can fab something up and use it as a press to do this with? or if it would bust the welds on it.
