Stop the ROPS bar from loud squeaking when underway.

Get yourself two bolts (i'll look for the size) and tighten them down. Alternatively, you can buy the knobs that come on some BX series from your dealer. They thread into the front of the ROPS at the joint. You'll see a welded nut on the front side.

I can't remember which thread I sued but it was one of these two sizes....

ROPS Jamb bolts Thread size metric M10x1.5mm, M10x1.25

You can see them installed here (two shiny bolts).

Assuming you have the lx2610hsd....pix below...you could add a thin sheet of teflon between the upper and lower sections of the ROPs where they 'pivot'. I don't know if it's new enough to have the man sized 'thumbscrews' my BX23S has/had....it 'looks' like it might ?

I put a breaker bar on the hinge bolt & nut athen tightened it down as tight as I could. It stopped the noise.

I tried 2 bolts and that solved mine. I wear hearing aids and until I figured it out it was a bit of a chore to determine where the noise came from only while moving!

I keep mine at 45 degrees. Still works as ROPS. Does not squeak or rattle. Clears the garage door openings (on a B2601).

I fixed that rattle on my B2650 (ROPS the same as LX2610 I believe) with a bolt and lock nut - I forget the diameter, thread pitch and length, but a guess would be 3/8NCx1 1/2", or thereabouts? There's a threaded piece on the front of the hinge that the bolt can go through to act as a stop for the rops when it's pinned into place. It can be adjusted to solve the rattling but allow the pin through without binding. Then use the lock nut to fix it there.

I used a knob with a washer and short spring to keep the knob in place when it isn't clamping. I don't remember the thread size.

The 45 degree position is not meant to be used, the hole for the pin is too large and the strength of the ROPS is greatly reduced. You can use that hole to keep the folded ROPS in place when trailering.

OP. I already posted the thread size in post number 3. It's one of those two sizes. If you don't need to drop the ROPS frequently, just put the two bolts in. It really doesn't get any easier than that.

I stopped the rops rattle with one bolt on one side only. And I can pin the rops up and down fine without a struggle getting the pins in against the bolt tension.
