We are currently in the market for a 54" Zero Turn Mower. We are looking at two models. ZG127S-54 and Z125SKH-54. We have gone through the brochures quite extensively and cannot determine the difference between the two. Can anyone offer assistance? Thanks!

just a guess here, but it seems the 27 and 25 in your model numbers dictates engine HP. so an additional 2 hp would be the start.

the Z and ZG are different in and of themselves. ZG is the next level above Z. probably heavier, stronger

S vs SKH is the next questions.

looks like a few. weight. about 500 lbs on the higher one. faster going forward and backward, the ZG is shaft driven instead of belt, has a wet disc clutch (stronger) over a dry disc clutch. mechanical lift vs the hydraulic lift on the ZG (deck) see through smaller fuel tank vs electric fuel gauge larger fuel tank on the ZG

there is many differences that I can see at just a glance. ask to ride both at your local dealer, the differences should be noticeable.

I think the KH stands for the Kohler power plant models. I was looking at the Z725KH-60 series myself last fall and saw that they all came with Kohler motors but just recently Kubota came out with the Z725X-60 which has the Kawasaki motor. Could be the same thing in the Z1 series. It could designate what power plant comes with it.

Any ZT that uses a 28 hp EFI kohler is great. It has been the best motor I have ever had, on any mower, in my 25 years experience, in the biz... Mine is on a Dixie Chopper, which has also been a good buy...:D

We've got a Grasshopper with a 29HP Kubota. You don't wear them out you just trade for other features. Sure is nice to have a power lift deck. Simple to clean or sharpen/change blades.
