Hi,
What size wrench do I need for the drain plug in the transmission pan? I only have up to 22mm and that's not big enough.

Usually, they are 26mm or equivalent to 1 1/16".

Larger hex makes it less likely to "round" off by a tech who's using an inferior wrench. That's why they use them on drains and, most famously, blade bolts (30mm).

BUT....

Just because it's a larger than normal hex, requires a larger than should be socket, people tend to break things off and/or strip the threads too often. They have torque specifications for them for a reason.

I carry a "Crescent" (adjustable) wrench in my toolbox for just such matters. An assortment of Crescent wrenches is inexpensive and the only thing you must be careful about is to use only the METRIC ones on a Kubota.

Well said, one must use ONLY metric adjustable wrenches, never use an SAE adjustable on Kubota. ;)

Think I just used a 27mm socket from HF.

Now I need to figure out how to drain out all of the fluid.
Gravity seems to do a good job of draining it, especially when the fluid is warm.

I either need to lose a lot of weight or grow really long arms because getting under the machine to reach everything is a pretty tight squeeze.

You and me both. Maybe we should give up the Zero Turn and start pushing.

Found the drain plugs on the axles and got all the fluid drained.

After a quick trip to AutoZone for a filter wrench with teeth I was able to remove the lower filter.

Now I’m having issues refilling. Got 2 Gallons back in and not a drop more letting it sit overnight hoping “gravity” will do its part.

Any suggestions?

Start it and let it run for 30 to 45 seconds, shut it off and add oil. After a couple of cycles, the level will not lower. Drive it for a minute or two, shut off and top off. Keep driving and checking until the level stays the same.

Put 3 one gallon jugs + 1 quart of UDT2 Was careful not to waste a drop.

Drove it for a bit and still low on the stick. Just below the bottom hashmark.

How much more does it need?

Why your drain plug(s) have a copper / rubber drain plug gasket. No need to reef on it. Just sung plus 1/8 turn is plenty.

Wheel nuts too.....lol
