I live just a little farther south of you but this time of year I never use the glow plugs to start my tractor or truck, usually under 50 degrees I’ll use them, don’t have experience working on tractors but I do work on diesel trucks, quick way to check glow plugs is resistance check between the tip where the plug goes on and to ground, don’t know exact spec but would guess around 2 ohms or less, and check for power to the plug, being as hot as it is here I would check compression tho, doesn’t have to use oil to be low on compression

You need a "test-lite" or a "multi-meter"..& usually 2 people to test the GP system.
OR just take them out & hook'm to a battery or battery charger to SEE if they glow.
+ on top & - to the body..
BE CAREFUL>> they get VERY HOT, VERY QUICK, if they're working.
You have to make sure they're getting power TO the rail.. but ya gotta be quick, I think they have "a timer" on the system that'll shut off the power to them after a short time.. 10 seconds??
+ on the rail & - to a GOOD ground, like the engine block.
