Hello guys , Found a woods m5-4 bush hog today. And wanted to know if you think my b2150 would have any problems powering it .Or if I will be to big for the tractor. I looked around and found that most of these tractors run a 4 foot mower . The 2150 is 4cly 24hp and 18hp at the pto with 4wd.
thanks for any help.

I think its a 5 footer right? I may be a bit much for the tractor to power, as well as lift and manuver it.

Power wise, you should be OK. I ran a 5' hog behind my L185DT with only 13.5 PTO horses. In really tall thick grass (2') I was often in low gear, but normal stuff was 3rd or 4th. The L185 weighed about 1800 lbs, pretty much the same as the newer B series. I had loaded rears, + normally 140 lbs/wheel in weights. You may well need some front weight for steering. If you can get a good price, I'd go for it.

I tend to agree that it might work, if it is 5 foot. I run a 5 ft Ford finish mower behind my B2150 (w/ FEL) in some very high grass with no problem with power, just have to slow down in high grass! Weight wise, I have a 48" tiller that works fine, but once when I loaned it to my son, I borrowed a neighbors 72" tiller to do my small garden. As long as I went slow, it did fine with the weight and the tilling in some pretty hard ground.

So, if the price was right, I would go for it. The best would be to take your tactor to the place of purchase and try it out before the purchase!

Ok ,went and looked at the bush hog today, it is 5 foot and little rough around the edges. Worst part is its ford blue , will have to fix that. needs a push lock pin for the pto shaft . But it works and that's all that matters . I gave 1oo bucks for it. Owner wanted 150 for it , went to the car wash and washed the crap out of it . Now all it needs is some ORANGE paint ,and put to use. Thanks for the feedback

Lift height is the biggest problem I have lifting a Woods M4. I can pick it up high enough to to travel across the ground but loading onto a trailer can be a challange sometimes.
