I brought home a l1500 the other day that did not run. The steering column is busted and the thing sat for who knows how long but anyway for 250$ why not?
I could use it for parts for my other one. I thought today I'd see if it would start. I bled the lines and put a new fuel filter on. It just turns over but will not start. It has a good 800cca battery. Any thoughts?

You've bled both lines right to the injectors? Does there seem to be compression when cranking it over? Is there any exhaust smoke? If so, what color? You do have the throttle open? Decompression lever isn't pulled?

Try to squirt a bit of brake cleaner in the air filter housing while you crank it. If it starts up on that then you get fuel issue.
Do not overdo the break cleaner !!!

I put in fresh diesel and bled both injectors. Compression seems real good it seems to be pretty strong. The smoke is gray with a little white to it. It's lighter in color than my other one when it cranks. When I hit the glow plugs the indicator lights up red. I didn't want to hit the glow plugs and spray starter fluid at the same I've seen the pictures on what happens with that one. I did try a little after it cooled down and no luck.

Check your air filter and the related components for obstructions. Bird or mouse nests etc.
