I was hoping someone that uses Amsoil would chime in, like maybe Bulldog. I use the HD 15-w40 marine/diesel in my 01 Duramax. The Kubota is a 2012 and Amsoil has the OE and the premium 15-40 that is engineered for 2007 models and newer, since the amsoil rep doesnt have a clue I was wondering if you guys had a idea. Ideally I would like to use the same stuff I use in the truck. Any ideas?

I looked up some specs for "12" model engines and it had EGR and non-EGR listed. If you have a "non" I would suggest the 5w30HDD. I really like it in my diesels but the newest one I have is a 04 model. The 15w40 diesel / marine you're using is good oil. the 5w30 will just give you better cold starts and a slight advantage on your mpg / gph.

If you have a EGR I would use either the Premium 5w40 or the Premium 15w40. The 5w will probably give you a little better cold start protection but I don't think it will make much difference on the mpg.

Not that there's anything wrong with the OE oil but the Premium is a higher grade lubricant and gives you a higher level of protection. Another plus the Premium has over the OE is extended drain capability, up to 3x longer life.

Unless you're either driving tons of miles or working the snot out of your stuff you could most likely do like I do and change oil once a year. My 7.3 PS has almost 300K and still runs great. My buddy has a Mack dump truck with + / - 1.5 million on it and used to average 80K mile change intervals when he worked full time. It still has the factory bearings in the bottom end. I hope this helps.
