Ok, So I have an old M4500 with a Harris Cab. Since I've had it I've complained about excessive gear noise. Much of this I've attributed to having UDT type fluid in it rather than the 80W that originally came from the factory. But...The other day I finally decided to install a fabric head-liner in the cab (old one was rotted out when I got it), WOW! It cut down the tranny noise significantly. I'm thinking now that the un-lined cab was just amplifying any little bit of gear noise/vibration and making it seem much worse than it really was.
