Washing engine

hi folks,
I do quite a bit of brush hogging with my MX5800. Result is a lot of weed dust accumulates on the tractor. I use a power sprayer to clean off the tractor. Would like to clean off the engine. I spray off my truck engine at the car wash, being cautious not to spray direct on distributor, plugs, and other electronic components. How do you guys clean your tractor engine?

Hot engine, spray "Gunk' or similar, let it sit for a bit, rinse off (regular hose is fine), Hit with compressed air (Leaf blower works OK too) then run engine until all water has evaporated
