General timing and valve lash question is i have my V2203 torn down and timed the front gearing with appropriate timing marks aligned on all gears and at this point the rear cylinder it as TDC compression stroke.
My question is does Kubota start their cylinder numbering from rear as number 1 or front cylinder as Number 1?
I do not have the clutch housing or flywheel mounted to see where the #1 TDC lines up yet but seeing that the rear cylinder is the one on tdc compression with all the timing marks of gear train aligned leads me to believe they number and time things off of rear being number one. There are a few other engines gas and diesel i have worked on over the years that number from rear to front.
