I have a new Carry All and a Middle Buster I think will work with a HF Quick Hitch.....

If I have it right, typical Cat 1 is 26" or so spread x 15" height to top link center.

Both are 26" spread for lift pins + 1/2" "shoulder" on pin = 27".

HF QH is supposed to be 27 3/16" spread...perfect.

Both are also ~ 15" height from lift pin to top link...perfect.

Problem is KK Box Blade - 21 1/4" spread + 1/2" shoulder = 22 1/4"

Height to top link hole is ~ 19", but ~ 15" to 1 5/16" bushing at lower mount.

I think I can make the top link work if the hook on the HF will take 1 5/16", reducing the bushing size, or using one of their "adapters".

Issue is width of the lift pins...

End-to-end, the pins are 27". I think I need each extended out about 3". Don't think I'll find a pin that long, either Cat 1 or 2.

Thinking about adding a long Cat 2-sized Bushing to stretch them out? Maybe use the existing Keeper holes to hold the bushings on?

Any ideas appreciated!

I did some more measuring.

I think new/longer threaded Cat 1 pins, with some Washers as spacers might get me an extra 1/2-3/4" per side.

Maybe combined with some of the Cat 1/2 bushings, I could be getting close?

PS:

I got these at TSC. May get me 1" per side, so about 29" total. They call it a Draw Pin, no shoulder. Will use Grade 8 washers instead. Will cover threads with grease and a Cat 1/2 bushing, then have another bushing coming from Amazon for QH. Will know how that works when it shows up.

Getting the QH from HF tomorrow morning.

Adapter and bushings supposed to be here from Amazon tomorrow also.

Getting closer...I hope....:)

I did get a Quick Hitch from Harbor Freight with my 20% coupon...$80.

No issues with carry all. Haven't tried subsoiler yet, but should be fine.

Box blade took some tinkering, but not a bunch.
Stock, the top links interfere with the top hook of the QH, and even with a short top link on the tractor, no room for adjustment. Adjusting top link is important with a BB. I could have made an adapter, but it would not fix the lack of top link adjustment.

So, reconfigured so top hole both binds the straps and is used a lift point. Pulled the top attachment back a couple inches and still have room for adjusting top link.

Bushed the new 3/4" x 5" Grade 8 bolt with both a Cat 1/2 bushing and a Cat 2/3 over that to fit tight in the top hook.

I can still use a top link pin in the lower hole to use it without the QH.

It did take quite a bit of grinding on the straps and risers on the BB to clear the bolts on the hook of the QH.

Also, the width of the lift pins was narrow. With the new pins pictured earlier, and new QH bushings, I got the width I needed.

Best part is the top hook setting on the hook is now the same for both the Carry-All and Box Blade. Betting it will be the same for the Subsoiler.

Happy Camper!!

That’s pretty sharp. Enjoyed reading how you pulled it all together. I have read where some folks can’t get all of their implements to work with the same hitch. You did good.

As Ladair said, you did well. I have also read some posts where people say that they can't make something work with the HF Quick Hitch. I say that the word can't is an acronym for " 'cause aym not trying". I used to tell my kids that every time I heard that word from them. They don't use that word anymore and I see that you didn't either. Good job!

If you move the rear links to the outside it would have given you better clearance for the hook. ;)

HA!! I thought of that too. Unfortunately, it was afterwards!!:p:p

I can still flop them to the outside, but it might actually get the front links more into the hook bolts, and make for a lot more grinding.

I could also widen the bushings another 1/4" or so, which would help. All it would take is a couple 3/4" washers on either side of the bushings.;)

It's snug as-is which is good. If I have to switch it around, that's the direction I'll head.

Thanks guys!!

With a welder and cut off wheel and you can make anything fit :D Just depends on the person's ambition level :D:D

Absolutely, and I have both. My first thought was bringing the lift pins forward ~ 2" with channel, but like this arrangement better, and can still use it without the QH easily.

Biggest hurdle was getting room for adjusting the top link on the tractor. Not always a big issue with some attachments, but imperative for a BB to adjust its digging aspect front/back.

If that doesn't bend you're not using it to it's full intended purpose. Why not just weld another arm to the box blade where you need it?

I have a similar box blade and I had a similar problem but only with the top, to keep the angle of the rear arms the same as before I moved to the top hole, I removed the bottom bolts slide the arms forward and drilled new holes in the bottom frame. By doing that I don't hardly have to adjust my top link.

I also bought the Harbor Freight quick hitch with the discount and it's not bad at all for that price. Especially if you're just using it for your own projects. I had to modify my BB at the top as well because the design of the HF adjustable points would not fit because the bolts hit. I just cut 1/4" off the BB top hitch and welded in a cross brace below that would clear the HF top hook and it works great. Please excuse the welds as that's far from my expertise but it's adequate for my use.

All good fixes. Ben, like the pins in place of the bolts on the QH top hook.
Problem I needed to fix was lack of adjustment with the top link, primarily for the BB. Even though I use a short TL, I didn’t have much room.

I need almost 3” of travel if I’m digging (short) or smoothing soft material out (long). Pushing the top hook location back a little, I have room, plus can use it without the QH by using the lower holes and another pin.
