Hi Guys,

First off I'm so glad I found this website so much useful information. I regent not finding it sooner it may have saved some a lot of time and some money.

I have recently obtained a B6200HST-D my first tractor. I was told by the previous owner that the machine was looked after 100% maniacally. I took his word for this and I think it has just bit me in the butt. The steering was a little sloppy being my first tractor I thought this was the norm. I was out in the paddock slashing and then all of a sudden I could not turn left. Once I got it into the shed I pulled out the steering box and found water and ball bearings in the case  So I cleaned up the rest of the box and look for other things that could be wrong. It looks like the steering box has been fixed before. The seal above top bearing was missing causing water to sit on top of the top bearing and not reaching the hole to drain out. The next problem I found was 2 dents on the tubes that come out of the nut, It looks like this is causing the ball bearing not to be able to move around the nut. Next the steering rod looks like it has been welded on both ends as you see in the photos. I would like to buy new a new rod, ball bearings and tubes, but I can’t see a part number in my parts manual. Can anyone help me with a part number or dose this only come as a complete kit?

I believe the box can be rebuilt my only issue is that I need to find some parts. I have been unable to find parts in Australia and most that I find in the USA wont ship to Australia due to agreements with Kobuta. I have added a shopping list below if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. .

Make sure you measure yours, the one I got was too long and I ended up cutting it down and re-welding it to the proper length... Look at my posts, there is alot of good info on this repair.... really common...
Well I was snooping around Stevens Tractor and by far are the cheapest for the dynamo I need for my tractor. Have you bought anything from them yourself?

yes, I originally got my parts from them. I guess the shaft was back ordered, and I had someone coming to buy it- so I canceled the order and 2nd day air'd the parts from reliable aftermarket. I called Stevens, and they were really nice to deal with, canceled the transaction no prob. Actually worked out well other then having to cut it down and re weld it shorter.
