Usually with spam, it's more fishing for information. Malware imbedded in links to give someone access to your computer, that sort of thing.
It probably isn't working for these spammers that keep popping up on this site. Since there links and descriptions are in gibberish, most of us will avoid them anyway. Especially with link overload
Also since it is a forum, obvious sales pitches tend to be ignored as well in the case of the old spammers that used to pop up occasionally on this site. I remember a few times we were poking fun at there expense
