Seal Leak

I recently brought my tractor in for service and had some work done. The top of the transmission case was replaced as I had a crack in it where it mounts to the main case.

The service tech said he didn't have the pull the tractor apart to change this so they forgot to replace the seal. It looks like a pinion seal but pretty sure that's not what it's called.

I was told I didn't have to split the tractor by someone else to change the seal but the Kobuta dealers says they will have too. Has anyone replaced one of these seals? Attached below are the pictures of the seal.

That propeller shaft goes the front clutch case to the hydrostatic input , and yes you have to split the tractor to replace that seal as there is no way to get the shaft out otherwise.

Curious how you cracked the case and on what machine?

This is on an 04 Kubota B7800. The case was cracked by the previous owner and I bought it not knowing it. It was cracked from having a 3 pt backhoe attached to it is what we believe. The machine only has 926 hours which isn't bad.

Is this seal a common seal to go? I think I'm going to leave it because it's not leaking much at this time. The dealer said this is a 1500$ job.

Camero350man - I have the sameish machine (B2710) with 3pt backhoe.

Sorry for not helping with the seal issue, but do you have the heavy duty top link (1st pic)? Just gathering data...

I have the top link that you mentioned. It was installed by the dealer when it was new. I'll post a picture to see if it's the same one you mentioned tomorrow.
