I have a 2015 rtv x1100c that gets used daily and is kept inside.
Machine on start up yesterday ran great 1st part of morning then on second start up engine has miss and lots of black smoke and would not shut off by key had to put in gear with switch off and give fuel and stall which was not hard to do, due to engine miss.
Air filtration system is clean and dry, fuel is fresh and clean with no moisture in filter, oil seems to be a hair over full.
Any help appreciated.

Excessive fuel will cause the black smoke I’d start looking at your fuel delivery system. I don’t know how your machine is wired with the key...some tractors allow you to remove the key and keep driving. You stop diesels by cutting off fuel delivery.

I’m not sure what you are saying here
had to put in gear with switch off and give fuel and stall which was not hard to do die to engine miss.

This engine has fuel stop solenoid and is controlled by 12v from key switch, however due to excessive fuel in cylinder or cylinders from the issue I am having it wouldn't shut off and I had to stall engine to stop from running.

Two issues come to mind, failed fuel injector, or failed injection pump.

I would start by pulling the injectors and have them tested.

I determined it was working by unpluging solenoid while running. I dont see a manual shut off I must be over looking it?

Break each injector line loose one at a time while running to see which cylinder is dropping. You should hear a good drop in RPM when the cylinder is running properly and the bad will not drop RPMS.

It sounds like you are getting too much or uncontrolled fuel as noted previously, but they want you to check the manual stop on the pump. Have a look on the speed control plate at fuel pump on the engine where the throttle connection is, there is generally another lever, a manual stop lever, which is used on different engines, even though it may have an electrical stop solenoid. Whilst the engine is running, operate that lever and see if it shuts off the engine.

There isn't any manual shutoff on the 1100 engines in RTV's. ( there is one on the 900)

I just had a look at the parts diagram for one and they still have one on the speed control plate, perhaps I was looking at an aussie model so slightly different?

Thanks for all the replys!!

I did find the stop and yes it works.
Now to the fuel line test to see which cylinder is not combusting.

UPDATE.....there is a ball on slide in back of IP is broke off..
Interesting! Glad you found it! I have seen broken plunger return springs cause somewhat similar problems but usually a broken spring gets jammed and causes runaway or no Governor control. I'll be keeping this one for future reference. Getting the part is now the issue, Kubota don't supply individual parts for those pumps but I think most injection repair shops can get them.
