Was in RK this morning, and they have several tractors sitting there so I looked them over. The looked strangely familiar are they made by mahindra? I mean they looked nice and all and the prices seemed like a good deal, and they say they have parts and trained mechanics. But Im just wondering if they are TYM?

They are indeed produced by TYM. According to a company source, they have so far in the last year, surpassed kioti in total USA sales.

It is believed that popular brands are paying attention. The Cabela debacle has been thrown at them, but they had no connection to that scenario, they seem to be weathering the storm.

Competition is beneficial for tractor buyers and a 55 gross hp tractor with HST, Cab and Loader, plus other amenities is raising eyebrows at under $30K. The BH and other implements/attachments very $ reasonable.

Net $ prices, Not List #'s clearly displayed on their website. NO zero percent financing however. Spokesman stated prices will increase once each year in January. Notices on website to appear the December prior.

They claim dealer service will be provided by every store selling tractors and ALL stores by spring 2019.

RK is a family run business w/ one billion $ in annual gross sales, which includes much more than just tractors. Over 100 stores and growing.

Other tractor manufacturers, especially the market leaders, might do well to pay attention. So we shall see......

Yes, TYM, some mahindra are TYM as well, hence the familiariaty.

We got a new RK this past spring and I looked them over - hard to get any assistance/knowledge in the store, RK has sold and stopped selling two other brands in the past (for various reasons). So support had me concerned..big box store are not know for their expertise on most things, employee longevity, etc.

Some here say RK is different..my experience is no, they are not.

MAybe I'm old school but if I"m spending 20-30k on something I expect and demand more customer service/knowledge than a big box store provides.

I went with a kioti and added options - less costly for 98% of the same features and zero financing from a 'real' tractor dealer than the RK option.

I wish them well.

Interesting...

With Yanmar and Deutz engines, they should be reliable starters. I hope they keep the ancillary systems simple and plenty of parts in stock. Having your tractor blow a hydraulic seal is understandable. Waiting six weeks for the parts kit to arrive is not.

I notice the list price for the L3901 comparable model is very close to what my neighbor just paid for his new L3901 -$21k. Not sure how they'll get the quality up while beating Kubota for pricing. Competition is good though...

Doing some digging on the subject ....

The RK RK24H Tractor .....with FEL and BH = $17,797.00
Kubota BX23s (With Same ) = $20,325.00

I wonder if the FEL and BH controls are the same as the Kubota - as for the smoothness

RK is based in the hub around Ohio/Indiana and a good chunk in Florida - total 109 stores, Kubota is well........hard to miss (1100+ dealers - just in the US)!

Time will tell if this is a player or a pretender.;)

Fatalist,

Kioti has a US market presence for at least 15 years, yet they hover at the sales bottom rung at 3 percent. Perhaps they are the tractor world's best kept secret?

RK has been selling their brand for only a year and already surpassed kioti?

I'd suggest a firm selling tractors for 15 years in the US market, should be somewhat embarrassed to be clinging to the ladder bottom rung,

Guess you received a good deal, they simply can't afford to let any customer get away...
