Does anyone have any tricks to removing the front wheel assist on the L4600 model? I removed the two spring pins that is supposed to hold the shaft together but I can’t get it to slide at all.

Once you get the pins out the couplings should move on the splines of the propeller shaft. They may be resisting because of dirt etc. being there for years.

Spray them with PB Blaster or similar products and gently tap the coupling with the tip of a punch to try to loosen them up. They should eventually slide onto the shaft and then it will fall down.

I tried to force them inward with no luck. Just wondering if I needed to force more or if this one had a different style. It almost looks like the chassis needs to be split to get it out. Hard to believe it would be like that though.

The parts diagram (attached) appears to agree that the 020 shaft has long enough splines so the 2 couplings can slide toward each other when the spring pins (and holder 100) are taken out.
