Man, you are afraid you're going to be caught in a blizzard!!
Nah, it took wayyyy longer to right the posts then it did to actually tear it down and reassemble it. Took less the five minutes to tear it down. Hardest part was scraping the bloody gasket. Took less then ten minutes to put it back together. Hopefully the tractor will be back up and running by six tonight :D

Minus the fender. Gonna pull the other one and address the rust and paint flaking before I put them back on :D

Wow, that's a lot of work! Makes me feel guilty after replacing the axle seals on my B7100- took maybe 12-15 mins per side. Jack it up, pull the wheel & hub, wipe, pry the old seal out, tap in the new one, re-assemble. I shall now consider myself blessed.
It would have been really nice if it was set up like yours :D I put it off for as long as I did because the fender bolts were so rusted and such a pain to get too  That was the hardest part about the tear down. I picked up a 17mm universal socket today. So installing it should be quite a bit easier :D:D

Not done yet though. Still gotta put it back on the tractor, then give her a test :D Got hung up at work, so I'll finish getting the hub mounted tomorrow, fill her up with oil and run her up and down the road for a bit :D

Why not put your posts together and include it as an Article under Servicing, Repair and Maintenance? Looks as good as the articles already there. Who puts articles in that area, Vic?

Not sure who to submit it too.. My word processing skills with a computer are lacking. Wouldnt begin to know how to put it all together and add the pics where needed. Or what program to use. The tap talk app on my phone makes it easy. Then I can write it out and add a pick when I want, where I want it as I'm going :D

I ended up doing the post this way, to show someone that it's not as intimidating as it appears to replace one of those seals.

That, and Tooljunkie wanted lots of pics :p:p:D

To reinstall on the tractor :)

I wiped down the mating surface for the paper gasket with brake cleaner on a rag to get rid of any residue.

Then coated with a thin coating of ultra black rtv.

Smoothed it out.

Then used the rtv to hold the paper gasket in place ;)

Then reinstalling the case. You hold it up square with the opening. Ease it into place till you find the hole for the axle.

After finding the hole, rotate the housing till you feel the axle slide in the grooves.

Then rotate till the case lines up. Give it a wiggle as your working to two halves together. It will slide right in to place.

Then it's a matter of putting all the bolts back in and tightening them down.

Then install your tire :D

Then it's just a matter of filling the oil back up and testing. :D

I actually did an extra step that wasn't needed for the repair. Which was removing the fender

In my case, the fender needed to come off because I wanted to address some issues with it while I was right there
