One of the things I was looking for when I bought the L4240 was a tractor with a flat deck. Tired of crawling over the hump of the transmission, etc. Then I get in this Bobcat, and not only being crowded, but it's all heel/toe actuated. So I have to be at a certain spot in the seat to make it all work easily.

I don't blame you Len. I am not "quite" as claustrophobic but in watching guys run these machines, they always seem to be beating themselves, rocking and jerking, as they go about whatever they are doing. I like stable tractors that don't spank the operator.
I used one on a job for about 3 weeks.....

bucking
back aching
beating
bouncing
bleeding
bumping.....

are all words that I would use to describe using it!!!!!!

great machine....but wheelbase and enclosure makes it .....a jail cell!

85Hokie, it's not just the enclosure and rough ride. My size 14's don't fit where they are suppose to and my ankle does not pronate and supinate as they use to!!

So when I get out of the thing I must look like a 3 year old who got caught in one of those square game machines with all the toy dolls inside. I know I want out, but not sure how to start!

My (very) brief training session in NIW's cat taught me two things:

1) Once you get used to it, it will do a ton of work quickly.

2) It is a machine for young, tough men.

Or ones with a few screws loose... Your's truly is one of those! :D

I love my bobcat, the thing has moved tons of dirt and snow for me.
It's one version newer than D2Cat's, and it been repowered with a V2203 DI just like D2Cat's.
It too is in need of a paint job and to have the decals put on it. ;)
