Amazing. Fortunately no one was injured, which is somewhat of a miracle since those blades are typically 116' long!

I hope none of those cute baby seals were injured, or polar bears, or seagulls, or whales, or some other poor defenseless creature,, who cares about the people anyway

I know a guy that services those things, the massive ones. He spends day one climbing. A few days inside servicing and a day coming back down. He can be a week at a single machine. Inside the nacelle is a bunk! It reminds me of the engine room on a large ship. They run a hoist inside the column to bring parts and tools up and down. Ladder is inside too. He has taken pictures from it showing the curvature of the Earth. You'd never be able to pay me enough to go up inside that thing.
I cannot see how they are financially efficient. All about just earning to pay debt service and tax write offs of principal I guess.
The do eat flocks of birds.

I like basements, not too far to fall in one of them.:p

Bailing twine is great for pulling calves and duct tape is good for fixing diffs, but holding a turbine up at 250km/h, not sure they'll cut the mustard.

I saw one on fire last year it looked like a giant roman candle. The fire dept was just standing watching it burn as they could not reach it. The blades melted and fell. Another time we went thru the farm where these are and there was a guy walking around on top of one looked like an ant

They do not make a good neighbor, will definitely drive you
crazy with the noise and vibration. Definitely lower your home
and property valuation. Just go visit someone living close to one.

They are pretty much like putting good corn whiskey into our gasoline.
