Hey guys, names Phil. A friend of mine passed away a few months ago and I acquired a Kubota b7100 for free. It's been sitting for 20-30 years and needs a full restoration. Are parts for this tractor hard to come by? It's missing several key parts and I know it's gonna be a long process, but I love bringing things back to life. Any advice and tips is welcomed.

welcome Phil,

start here :

and this :

http://kubotabooks.com/AutoIndex/index.php?dir=Tractor Parts Manuals/

on the parts.......look at the page that follows the drawing, the number can be looked up via google. Colemans Eq. and Messicks can get almost any part listed.

there are several dozen of us here that own B7100's, there are a wide variety of models - but we all can help you, just ask away with questions.

Most if not all the parts are readily available and not too expensive.
Give us the exact model (as there are several of the B7100's), look on the left had side by the foot rest for the model and serial Number.
Is it geared or HST and is it 2wd or 4wd.

Being from Surprise myself, hope you have a cooled shop to work on it! ;)

Parts can be found at several different sources, give us what you need and We can point you in the right directions! :)

The plate is completely bare, just a shiny piece of aluminum. Lol it's geared and 4wd. Even has the front loader with it. The biggest thing I'm looking for now is the bracket with adjustment pulley, as they rigged up an auto alternator on it and the belt is really loose. I hope to hear her kick over this weekend to make sure it's worth my time.

It says b6001. I also got it to run for about 15 seconds. Now I know it's worth the effort. I also found most the missing pieces too. Still need to get the tensioner pulley tho.

mmmmm......that number is a game changer!

Dumb question #1 - how do you KNOW it is a B7100 ? Marked on the bonnet? (hood) or someone tell you that?

There are no B7100 marked with 6001 serials......now there ARE B7100's marked as 7001 serials......

and there are B6100's marked as 6001 serials.

more info on the matter :

SO - need to make sure we are talking about the right machine! Can you upload some pictures?:)

It's marked on the hood. I've tried uploading pics but they're too big and I can't resize them enough to work. What's different from the 7100 to 6100?

It worked so here's more.lol also can someone tell me if possible what kind of loader is this? I'll try to post pics of the rest this week, but the main post is on the tractor and it looks like it's also a separate hydraulic tank built in. I'm thinking a b219 but not sure. The control valve is a cast iron piece and the 2 handles bolt to the post to operate.

They have different engines.
On the side of the block right behind the injection pump will be a cast on CC# on it, get me that # and I'll be able to tell you B7100 or B6100.
Also what size tires are on it front and rear. ;)

Well it's a b6100. I was able to see the model number with the sun hitting the plate right. Rear tires are 8x16 fronts are 6x12. Engine number from what I got is D650-049178. I have no idea why the hood says 7100, but at least they're very similar. Now what's the differences between the two before I start buying parts?

Differences are there - engines are similar but different. Look at the 3 part manual as mentioned before. I betcha someone crushed the old hood, and had to find another one!

First off, your front/rear tire ratio is for a B7100. A B6100 has 7x16 rears and 6x12 fronts.
If its a 6100 you will have binding issues in 4WD.
