This is my first post, so hello from West Tennessee. I recently purchased a used L4330, that is running great other than a couple of small things. While the Intellipanel display does work, the "display mode/travel speed" buttons are not working; there is no change in the display when either button is pushed. I have searched for hours on the fix for this, whether it is a fuse or just need a new button, and I can not find anything. The gas gauge is also not reading correctly, so I don't know if that is related or not. Any help from you guys would be great.

Thanks!

Update: I pulled the fuel sending unit, and the fuel guage works. I don't know if it was just gunked up or what. I found the buttons at Messicks.com, however, if there is another easier fix, i sure would love to save that $65 for something else. Any way of telling if the button unit is still good without blindly replacing it?

Thanks

What is the possibility that you got a ground connection to work that wasn't working before?
That is a more likely, than "gunked up" sending unit.

Some options include:
1) Disconnect the wire harness to the switch and measure the resistance across the made switch to see if it is functioning correctly.
2) Disconnect wire harness to the switch. Jump the wires running to the switch to simulate the switch being made and see if the panel responds.

Could be. I did not do much except unplug it, pull it out to check that it worked, and reinstalled it, so maybe a connection was bad as well. I am hoping that was part of the problem with the two buttons, but after messing with the connection, I haven't had any positive results.

Thanks!

Thanks 200! I will give that a try tonight. I am electrically challenged so those steps were not what came to mind first.

Do you own an electrical tester? If so, do you know how to set it to measure resistance? If not, take a picture of it and post and will be able to guide on how to verify switch operation. Without meter use the jumper method.

I do have a tester, but I need a new fuse for it. I'll get that out and test it. Otherwise, what is the process for jumping the wires? It is a three wire plug. One ground, a red, and blue wire. Sorry for my ignorance. I'll also post a picture of my tester later.
