i'm changing the hydraulic filter on my 3301dt the dealer gave me filter HH32-16770. i opened the box at the parts counter and said this one has no magnet and the parts man said kubota changed that. this morning i took the original filter off and spun on the new filter so i could look at the magnet. the new filter sealed with a very light touch. i cleaned the magnet from the old filter and put it on the new filter causing me to loose a lot more oil than necessary by taking the filter off again. When i spun the new filer with the magnet on it drips fluid with light pressure. i thought the magnet wasn't centered correctly so i took it off again and put it back on and it still drips with light pressure. should i not use the magnet, i don't fell comfortable tightening the filter

Does the new filter have provisions to seat a magnet on it in the same manner as the old one?

My experience with the magnets have been that after the first filter change, the magnets have never picked up much debris. Maybe Kubota recognized this and have discontinued the use of magnets to help lower the cost of filters? IDK..

MHO would be just put the new filter on and be done with it,,, it is designed to filter any particulates out so a magnet is not needed

i'm going to skip the magnet. i just bought a 93mm socket type filter wrench for the oil filter, i was lucky that the hydraulic filter broke loose before i cut it in half with the chain type vice grips. why are the filters on so tight from the factory

i'm not really sure with no time to compare them but the magnet did seem to settle into a recess

I don't have a 3301dt, but make sure they sold you the correct filter. After a cursory check, I came up with a different part number. I certainly could be wrong, but I quit assuming I was getting the correct filter years ago on my HST machines.
Also, those magnets make great spare lynch pin keepers when slapped on the pto shield!

I also found a different filter number when I looked at L3301DT parts catalog TC422-82620 which Messicks shows subs to HH3A0-82623

i just found a wix filter WL10043 is the same as HHK32-16770 and is listed for a 3301dt. it is priced at $24.99 at O'rially's autoparts.
