New here but not new to Orange tractors.

I recently acquired my late FIL's L2350 which hasn't been run in a few years. So the battery is dead. Now for.the.embarassing part..........

I can NOT find.a.hood.release.on this thing ANYWHERE. I've seem the hood open......but never OPENED.

Can someone throw me a bone as to where to look ??

Thanks in advance !!!

Not sure about the hood release.... but.. PLEASE do not feel embarrassed over any question or concern you have regarding your tractor. The guys and gals here are wonderfully patient and wickedly smart when it comes to orange iron. Welcome to the site! They have saved my butt more times than I can count and most importantly saved me hundreds if not thousands of buck over the years. :D

My 2230 had a black knob near the steering column that when you push down on it popped the hood up. Hope this helps.

Odd...……..but the manual at Manualslib is different from the one at Kubotabooks.

The one at Manualslib says NOTHING about the hood release. The one (page pictured above) from Kubotabooks has a section on how to open the hood then shows how to remove the side panels. Nothing about the hood. LOL !!!

The machine is in a tight garage and has a loader on it. I guess if there's a black knob by the steering column, I'm golden. If not, I guess I'll stand on my head and fish the side panels off and out then look at the hood mechanism and figure it out from there.

On the L2350 the exhaust come up through the top (hood). I'm pretty sure removing the hood require removing bolts. I'm pretty sure the side covers come off with a couple of bolts near the bottom, front and back of each side.

There should be a large chrome handle on the bottom of each side panel that are the latches. Turn each one up at least a quarter turn, pull out on the bottom of the side panel and lift it off. The hood is bolted down.

Whitetiger and D2Cat nailed it.

The side covers come off with the lever on the side bottom of the covers, the "hood" does not, well not without unbolting it.
You get to the battery via the side covers so no need to remove the hood. ;)

Ok, I looked at an L2350 today, the side panel has one bolt screwed through in the middle lower edge.
I also looked at an L2850, it has a black quarter turn lever at the lower center of the side panel.
I also looked at an L2900, it has a chrome handle in place of the black handle to release the side panel.

Sooooooooo, whichever is holding your side panel on is just above the bottom edge in the center.:D
