Have a chance to buy a M9540 for the farm (4 wheel drive version with a Q30 Quicke front end loader). Have never owned a Kubota but have heard rave reviews about this tractor. It will be an upgrade LOL, have a 67 Massey 165 with FEL that has nickled and dimed me to death and they are willing to give me $4500 trade in. I gave $5000 for the tractor with newer Rhino 6 foot bushhog and I get to keep the TW-72.

They are asking 24,500 for the tractor. It is a 2007 with roughly 3,300 hours. One owner. Local Kubota dealership shows it was only in the shop twice under warranty (other than for regular maintenance). Had a tire clamp fixed and a national recall for the step which was apparently bending easily on those models. Other than that no issues.

At any rate. They will take my trade and I get the tractor for $20,000. More tractor than I probably need right now. Cows and 75 acres but am making more hayfields and have up to 115 acres. Here is a pick. What do you think, worth it?

I bought an M8540 basically the same tractor as M9540 in 2207 or 2008 and we love it, we traded a POS Case CX80 that spent more time in the shop than field and took a beating, but well worth getting a reliable tractor.

No known problems and ours has never been in the shop.

So does that seem like a fair price. Everything I see online is anywhere from $24,000 at the lowest to $27,000 or so with most being closer to the later. But this is my first Kubota. I was just told the M9540 is a workhorse and the local dealer says he sees them come in with 9000 hours on them from working in chicken houses (worst possible condition for a tractor) and nothing wrong with them. Says if you change the oil and filters like you are supposed to they are fine. It's not even his tractor and he was trying to sell me on it. Said its a 20 year tractor if taken care of.

Thanks,

KC.RAIDER, that is is excellent price for a M9540, especially considering what their offering for your tractor.

I've been watching for that exact tractor on Craig's List simply because a neighbor and friend bought one a few months ago, and I thought he sole it.

There was one on CL a couple of months ago for $34,000.

Here's what I find. https://joplin.craigslist.org/grd/6112788377.html

D2Cat,

Thanks for the help. I thought so also. It does have 3,300 hours but that seems to be nothing for these tractors. Did you friend buy a cab version? Or was it brand new?

One thing I would note is that it doesn't have the Kubota FEL though. Not sure about Quicke but seems to be a heavy built FEL. Any thoughts on them?

KC.

KC, his had like 3800 hrs, mirrors were missing, a crack (or tear) in the grill area. Had been used for haying. Nice clean cab, HST, with Kubota loader.

Get this, he paid 19000 at a farm sale. So he was taking a much bigger risk then you buying from a dealer. It was a ways away, so I think he had to pay a friend 500 to move it to his farm.

I asked him when he was going back to pay the other half!!

I think his is a 2008, not sure though.

Quicke loaders are equal in quality to the Kubota.

Thank you so much. Wasn't sure!

If anyone else have any thoughts please let me know. Seems like a fair deal especially given the age of my Massey. I won't know what to do lol! It will be like driving a Cadillac. ***128514;
