Hello everyone new to the forum and new owner of a Bx2380! I am currently in the market for a trailer to haul my bx2380 and was wondering if you guys had pics of them fitting in a 5x10 dump of 6x10 dump? Or will it not fit? Also should I go single axle or tandem? Thanks for the help!

There are numerous posts regarding trailers, and what folks prefer.

Generally, you will find most prefer tandem axle trailers with a flat bed & electric brakes on both axles. Extra length is generally a good thing.

I would consider, at a minimum, a 16' tandem. I have a 20', and love it.

Think about how your going to chain your tractor and implements to the trailer. You will need space to go forward and backward on the trailer to really lock down your chains. You can not expect to run a chain straight across and do any good. That said if your tractor will FEL and Implement equals 10 foot as someone already noted the extra 6 foot would help in chaining down the whole lot using booms. Hope that makes sense. Also the shorter the trailer and only having one axle increasings the amount of whip a trailer can produce. Some are very violent and will cause accidents.

There are so many posts on trailer sizing, especially regarding number of axles/brakes, there should be a "sticky" thread on them.

Don't try and cram tractor +loader onto a 5x10 or 6x10. Just don't do it. You are asking for bad things to happen.

You'd be better off with a 16 foot or longer trailer with tandem axles and brakes. 7000 lb is adequate and 10,000 lb is better. Depends on your truck among other things. Don't skimp on load securement.

Personally, I use a 7x18 7,000 lb trailer to haul the Bx and the L210.

6x10, borrowed from a friend to see how my tractor fit. With bucket in, bucket off, then rear view. Fit OK. I then purchased a 6x12.
Suppose you want ballast for the loader? Usually this is in the form of an implement, but it could be a weight box. 12 ft is a little short for that.

You are right, it is short for that. Can fit a box blade if the bucket sits on top of the trailer, or load implement into the bed of my truck. Not ideal for regular trailering but fine for occasional. And still pull able with a half ton.

Whatever size you end up with go tandem axle they pull really nice. I haul my BX23s on a 20' flafbed, don't even know it's back there on a half ton truck.

I have 5 x 10 flatbed trailer that I have hauled my BX2660 on and gotten by with it. It was marginal at best. I opted to get a tandem axle tilt bed to better do the job before I destroyed the 5 x 10.

I have a 16" tandem axle car trailer with electric brakes and haul my bx25 like a champ. I would not consider anything under this. My 2¢.
