MX5100 harsh seat

Hi,

I bought an MX5100 one snowy day without test driving it!

Bad scene- no one lies the horrible ride of the tractor!

The seat travel is minimal and there is no "snubbing" hydraulic cylinder or anything.

I get absolutely no answers on this from emailing Kubota. Dealer salesman suggests a $700 seat from some other model!


The only answer is probably to replace Mr. K's seating with something with more travel and a snubber.

It is a crime that they ruin an otherwise reasonably good tractor with a seat that rides worse than tractor seats from 70 years ago.

Any suggestions for improving this?

Northern Tool has all kinds of replacement seat and some that are on springs and float up and down.

I have the MX4700 with the same seat, and although not the best seat I have no complaints, I have a bad lower back (which sometimes requires trips to the E.R and morphin injections). I have been in the seat for hours on end, through very rough wood (stumps logs and all ) with any discomfort. But yes Northern tool has a nice selection of seats, and somthing with more travel and suspention will run you at least 300+.
