Ok I am putting new clutch kit in. Have everything lined up. I can get the halves together except for the last 1 1/2" I have jiggled everything possible. Pulled back apart and realigned disc in pressure plate. Still cant get past the last inch or so. Any ideas?

Is the FWD propeller shaft removed if it's a 4wd?
It sounds like your getting one shaft aligned but not the other, try turning the engine manually to line up the PTO shaft. ;)

It is 4 wd. I tried turning the flywheel with pry bar. Doesn,t seem to be rubbing against the shaft. The pto shaft going into the rearend came out part way when I seperated the two. I got it to slip back into whatever it is supposed to be in. Would not turn once I felt it go in.

I think your a little confused.

The 4wd shaft or propeller shaft it what is on the bottom of the clutch housing, and the part that came out on you.
You need to remove the front half of that shaft that goes to the front axle in order to get the two halves together, then after its together then you reinstall the shaft.
If you couldn't turn the shaft section that is headed to the rear it's still in 4wd take it out of 4wd and that shaft should free spin.

The PTO shaft is in the center of the clutch shaft, there are 2 shaft splines the inner is the PTO, and it engages a coupling on the back of the crankshaft, the outer splines engage the clutch disk, if both are not lined up it will not slide completely in, make sure the motor to the clutch housing are square to each other.

Done it many times. Every single time, that last inch or so it doesn't want to go. Usually have to rock the poo out of the back half of the tractor and normally it'll slip together when you're least ready for it to. Yes that is with the propeller shaft removed.

Thanks Ill look today. I crawled under yesterday and was not sure what had to unbolt to remove shaft. Cars and bikes are not a problem but this is a first.

Bolt 150 connects the front half and the back half of the shaft cover, so yes remove that first to get to the coupling. ;)
