The wiper seals on my Woods 1006 are floating and not attached to the cylinder housing. They are smaller then the ID of the cylinder housing and not pressed fitted. The only way I can think of making them stay inside the cylinder housing is to glue, rtv, them but that may only be a temporary fix. Do you guys just leave them floating on the cylinder shaft, not wiping anything, or ?

The attached pic is not my loader but it also has the wiper seal floating on the shaft.

If you mean the 'O' ring, all mine are sitting at the limit of rod travel and have been for years. I pay no attention to them.

Are you pointing to the seal that is on the cylinder ram to keep the paint off the seals while painting at factory? Once you get the loader they are no longer needed. Their job is finished!

That kind of O-Ring has caused several other guys grief here on OTT.

I think 'Cat nailed it...temporary for painting at factory.
