Ok I have owned other tractors but never a Kubota until 6 months ago . On my L3830 when I put the lift lever all the way down the arms drop to the ground
Which I found out the hard way when backing up in my yard.
There is a sliding stop control but I just find it odd that other tractors like the 830 Deere and 5720 deer and new holland tc 30 all stopped just short of the dirt.

Thank you

I'd say you either have the wrong lift arms on the tractor (their too long) or you were backing on an uphill slope!

I've never owned a tractor with that problem.

There are several lift linkage adjustments to make up for different tire sizes, it probably just needs the links put in a different position. ;)

Sounds like normal function to me if its going into the float detent. Should be a lockout for the float position.

Thanks everyone I will check the Arms for adjustment and let you know .
I am not a farmer all I pull is a rotary cutter and a road or box blade.

Actually float position is when the hyd. valve is open (and in the locked position)so the 3pt. can drift with the surface it sets on. If the 3 pt. is set at a particular position, it should hold at that position until changed by operator.

It is a one way valve, but it still holds in any position going the one way.

Is that something unique to the smaller models? I've never seen a 3 pt operate like that, or have a float position, they've all operated like TX Jim describes.

My tractor has a Position Control and a Draft Control. The position control will hold the 3 pt. in any position it's set at. The Draft control allows the implement to vary in dept to keep traction on the wheels.

May I ask what hyd valve you're referring to & what procedure tractor operator utilizes to "lock this valve in position" to attain float on 3 pt hitch?
