I'm looking at installing forward and rear facing led work lights on my bx2370 with Curtis cab for snow removal at night. in the led lights I'm looking at, they are available in both spot and flood pattern. Which of the two would work better for this application?
Thanks

I use floods. When I'm plowing snow, I'm looking right in front of the tractor. There is no need to see 150' out in the distance. Floods still give you a pretty good size viewing area not only out front but off to the sides also.

I agree with Paul, you are not going fast enough to heed spots.
I used 4 flood LED flood lights -2 forward and 2 back. They provide me with all the light I want/need. 2 floods give me about 120deg of light in the front and back. The only thing I would do differently if I wanted to see further in the front would be to add one spot in the middle.

I agree with Paulemar and olthumpa floods work the best in snow, you can also do a bar and get both floods and spots in one package. ;)

I found a bar that I like but it draws 5.5 amps of power. Will that be too much draw for the bx alternator?

I think you will be fine with that - make sure you wire them with a relay and the proper size wire. What one's are you looking at buying? I too think flood lights are better than spots.

I bought a 22" off-road light bar that is a combo of flood and spot. It has a finned aluminum housing but like I said draws 5.75 amps. I didn't know if that would be a problem when you add 3 amps for the rear lights and the current draw for the heater fan and wiper of the Curtis cab.

A combination would be good, but if you get only one type I'd definitely get the floods. I put 2 led floods on my ROPS for the front and 1 standard light for the back. The fronts light up more than enough distance for my uses. Like Ben S, I got the www.ropslights.com setup. High quality and easy to install.

Been there installed the wrong light pattern initially.. first installed spots which end up with a very bright spot and if aimed close in, the spot is bright enough blind the eyes to the adjacent dark areas.

Replaced with floods..
