Changed the engine oil yesterday, couldn't believe it had been that many hours. Anyway I was looking at the battery since I know it's about the time for a new one. What's the easy way to get that thing out? Pull the front grill?

If it starts normal, and holds a charge, just give the cables a freshening up. Clean all connections with a wire brush and or file, grease all connections, tighten all connections etc.
Your battery will tell ya when it needs to be changed. My $0.02.

Not sure, mine comes out from the top. I'd get the largest batter that will fit in the carrier (measure it). You can never have too much battery but you certainly have too little...

The front grill comes out easy enough after disconnecting the headlights and removing the two screws with knobs attached located from the top. If you have a cab tractor it is a bit more cumbersome given the AC lines and such restrict the battery some.

Cleaning the battery cables is not enough on these tractors as the positive wire runs to a fuse bank right at the battery. It's worth disconnecting it at this point and cleaning, and don't forget to clean, as in sand/wire brush the ground point to the tractor.
