I am looking at a rough cut mower for my L4701. The model I am considering is a Landpride RCT 1872 (6 ft) mower. Its a heavy unit...about 770 lbs. I am getting mixed information on the ability of the L4701 to haul the unit. The manual states a maximum of 880lbs. Its it too close to the limit or within a good tolerance. The land surface I will be working on is relatively flat. Thanks for everyones guidance.

[This is a joke] ...with a name like "Grasslands" do you really need a heavy duty one?

I don't think you should have ANY problem with that unit. I was surprised to see the Recommended Tractor PTO HP of 20-65 HP... I would love to try that unit on my tractor and it's no where near the ability of yours!!!
10-4 on that. When I had my B7500 I ran a 5' rotary cutter on it (and it was probably maxed out). Your tractor is a monster compared with the B7500 and that mower is only a foot wider.

I have the same tractor and also a landpride 6' rotary cutter. No issues at all. I am amazed and cant believe what it is capable of shredding up.

I run a Landpride 90" finish-cut at around 900lbs on my 2wd L4701 and it does fine with weights on the front bumper. It'll make the front end feel pretty light without the weights when you raise the mower but otherwise there's no lack of power....

My neighbor ran a 6' Bushhog cutter on his L3300. It was a little light in the front on hills but had enough power to run the mower.
